The first agent who carried out the attack on a holy place in Shiraz died in hospital despite efforts to keep him alive, Esmail Mohebbipour, the deputy governor-general of Fars Province in security and political affairs earlier told IRNA.
The attacker was wounded, arrested, and transferred to a hospital in Shiraz by the security and military forces, the official noted.
A day before his interview with IRNA, Mohebbipour had announced the attacker was in critical condition.
On Wednesday (October 26), a shooter opened fire on pilgrims at the shrine of Shah Cheragh in Shiraz, the capital city of the southern Iranian province of Fars.
At least, 13 were killed in the terrorist attack, and 30 more were wounded.
