Iran's 4th gold medal in world senior freestyle on Masumi's chest

Tehran, IRNA – Iran's 125Kg Amir-Reza Masumi beat his Georgian competitor in the final match of the 2022 Spain Freestyle World Championship to win the games' gold medal, and Iran's 4th gold tonight.

The final and bronze medal matches of the 2nd five weights of world freestyle began at 7:30 pm Tehran time in Pontevedra, Spain.

In 125Kg weight, Iran's athlete Amir-Reza Masumi beat Adil Misirji 11-0 to reach the quarter final. In that match he won versus Milan Kursug from Hungary to reach the semifinal. In that match he faced Alishir Yergali, the Asian bronze medal winner from Kazakhstan 6-3 to reach the final.

Masumi wrestled versus Solomon Manashvilli from Gorgia, whom he mightily beat 13-2 to win the U-23 world gold medal of 2022.

Amirhossein Firouzpour, the Iran's 92Kg weight beat his American competitor in final of the 2022 Spain Freestyle World Championship to win the games' gold medal.

The final and bronze medal matches of the 2nd five weights of world freestyle began at 7:30 pm Tehran time in Pontevedra, Spain.

In 92Kg weight class, Amirhossein Firouzpour beat Kazakhstan's Rezabak Aytmur Khan 11-2 in his first match. He also won the second match versus Adlan Viskhanov from France 11-1 to reach the quarter final.

In that match Firouzpur beat Tioir Bual from Canada 12-nil to reach the semifinal and in the semifinal, too, he beat the EU 2021 champion Feizollah Akturk from Turkey 17-6 to reach the final.

In the final match Firouzpour mightily beat Jacob Cardnas from the United States 10-) to win the senior world freestyle gold medal of his weight.

Amirhossein also has the gold medal of the world teen aged and youth medals in his records.

Amirhossein's brother, Mohammad-Hossein Firouzpour, too, had minutes before him won the 74Kg medal after beating a competitor form Azerbaijan.

Before Firouzpour, Iran's Azarpira and Amir-Mohammad Yazdani had won a gold and a silver medal for Iran today.
