President Raisi visited seven Asian countries, participated in various regional and international conferences, and hosted six counterparts from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Venezuela, Turkey as well as the Qatari Emir, which bored fruit of signing over 96 agreements and MoUs concerning economic, trade, political, cultural, tourism, oil and petrochemical arenas.
The documents are of great importance because they can outline the roadmap of future economic, cultural and social interactions of private and public sectors in the coming years. They also can open new windows of opportunities in terms of finding markets to be able to dodge the US-imposed sanctions.
Moreover, such agreements indicate in fact the expansion of ties between Iran and other countries, which can help create more economic boom.
The 21st Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, was the first participation of President Raisi in an international occasion, where the president held talks with eight other heads of states and he inked eight MoUs with his Tajik counterpart.
On his second foreign trip, the number of agreements increased to 14 documents between Iran and Qatar.
On the sidelines of a summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), the Iranian president signed gas swap deal with Turkmenistan and the Azerbaijan Republic.
The President also signed 12 documents with Oman during his visit to Muscat, where he was accompanied by a high-ranking delegation.
During the 22nd Summit of the SCO, the president of Uzbekistan and Iran signed 17 MoUs to expand cooperation in energy, industry, agriculture, sports and culture.
On May 30, Raisi hosted his counterparts from Russia, Turkey, Venezuela, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Qatar, when he signed 17 documents with Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon.
During his visit to Tehran, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his Iranian counterpart signed a 20-year cooperation agreement.
On June 15, Turkmenistan and Iran inked 9 MoUs in Tehran to increase economic, scientific, technical, cultural and trade cooperation.
Iran and Kazakhstan also signed 9 documents in Tehran on June 19 to expand collaborations in different arenas.
Turkey and Iran inked 8 agreements on the sidelines of a summit of Russia, Turkey and Iran in Tehran on July 19.
Some 52 agreements during foreign trips as well as 44 MoUs in Tehran show President Raisi’s efforts in his first year in office.
