In a Monday editorial on Rai al-Youm, Atwan said that Lapid directed threats of war to Lebanon and Iran in an interview with the Zionist intelligence outlet Walla, which was a desperate attempt to cover up the state of terror that prevails his regime these days.
This is because Iran and Lebanon developed their missiles, drones and other military capabilities, which led to the end of the decades-old myth of Israeli military superiority in the region, according to Atwan.
The Arab expert added that Lapid shivered in fear when four unarmed reconnaissance drones sent by Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah flew over the Karish gas field and other drones photographed all the gas platforms and the guarding ships along the coast of occupied Palestine without being detected by Israeli radars.
For that reason, Atwan wrote, Lapid submitted to all conditions set by Lebanon on outlining the sea border between Lebanon and occupied Palestine.
Lapid also delayed extracting oil and gas and begged US mediation to facilitate an agreement on sea borders, Atwan noted, adding that Lapid is behaving like a frog wearing a lion's robe.
If Lapid cannot confront the Lebanese “cub” and gives in to all the Lebanese conditions for fear of its missiles and drones, how can he confront the Iranian “lion” who owns hundreds of thousands of missiles, drones, and submarines, Atwan questioned.
Hezbollah demonstrated a huge intelligence superiority over all the Israeli security services when it published documented pictures of the Palestinian coast, Atwan said, adding that one mistake by the Israeli leadership, whether in Lebanon or Iran, may provide a justification for igniting a regional war that poses an existential threat to the Zionist regime.
