Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei called on the Iranian government to remove any obstacles to domestic production, describing production as the driving force behind economic progress.
Ayatollah Khamenei held a meeting with Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and members of the cabinet on Tuesday to mark Government Week, Tasnim News Agency reported.

-- UN chief pledges to protect rights of Iranian victims of terrorism

Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres said the world body is committed to preserving and protecting the rights of the victims and survivors of various acts of terrorism in the country, pledging to further support attempts aimed at justice-seeking for them.
Guterres made the remarks in a message read out by the director of the United Nations Information Center in Tehran, Inger Marie Vennize, as she took part in a conference in the Iranian capital on the occasion of the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, Press TV reported on Tuesday.

-- Iran MP warns of foreign interference after deadly unrest in Iraq

An Iranian lawmaker warned on Tuesday that the chaotic situation in Iraq could be a breeding ground for foreign interference, a day after powerful Shia cleric Moqtada al-Sadr announced he would quit politics.
Following Sadr’s announcement, deadly clashes erupted between rival Shia groups in Baghdad, which left at least 22 people dead – the worst violence in the Iraqi capital in years.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday described production as the driving force behind economic progress, calling on the administration to remove any obstacle to domestic production.
Ayatollah Khamenei met President Ebrahim Raisi and members of his cabinet, saying economy is the country’s overriding priority, although it should not mean ignoring other topics such as science, security, or social and cultural harms.

Armed supporters of a firebrand Iraqi cleric who clashed with security forces in the capital began to withdraw from the streets Tuesday, restoring a measure of calm after a serious escalation of the nation’s political crisis.
Following two days of deadly unrest that sparked fears instability might spread throughout the country and even the region, cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, 48, told his supporters to leave the government quarter where they had rallied. Within minutes, some could be seen heeding the call, dismantling their tents and walking out of the area known as the Green Zone.

-- Iraq: Violence is not a solution

After 24 hours of intense infighting, law and order were restored in Iraq amid a highly charged atmosphere, but the situation remains fragile and prone to another round of violence. 

Protesters and militants affiliated with the Sadrist movement began their quick withdrawal on Tuesday at noon immediately after their leader, Muqtada Sadr, called on them to evacuate the heavily fortified Green Zone of Baghdad, which have witnessed intense infighting between the Sadrists and their Shiite rivals. 

-- U.S. presence cost Syria $107bn

Syria has provided the clearest picture yet over the losses the country has suffered as a result of the United States presence in the country’s east and north. According to Damascus, the illegal occupation by the U.S. military in Syrian areas that are rich with natural recourses has prevented the wartorn country from access to 107.1 billion dollars till the first sixth month of this year.

-- Leader calls on govt to remove hurdles to production sector

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Monday insisted on the importance of “food security” and called on the administration of Ebrahim Raisi to remove any obstacles to production sector. “Decisively counter any factor that weakens production,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with Raisi and his cabinet members on the occasion of Government Week.
