The top Iranian diplomat made the remarks in a twitter post, hours after US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan Island.
Amirabdollahian’s tweet said: “Respect for countries’ territorial integrity is among international law regulations. Within this framework, the Islamic Republic’s support of ‘one-China policy is indubitable. US provocative actions have turned into a source of threat to international peace and stability.”
Pelosi concluded her trip to Taiwan Island earlier on Wednesday, a day after she landed there, defying stark warnings from China.
She was the highest-ranking elected US official to visit the island in 25 years.
China reacted angrily, warning the US that “those playing with fire will perish by it".
