Addressing top managers of the country’s nuclear industry on Wednesday, Eslami said that the achievements Iran has so far attained has made it powerful, with many now believing that Iran is not afraid of the US.
The official referred to Iran’s peaceful nuclear program and the pressure the country has faced because of Western measures.
He said, the West thought that it would subdue Iran by taking its maximum pressure campaign, and to achieve that goal, they levelled different accusations against the Islamic Republic.
They aimed to prevent Iran from making progress in the nuclear sector, but they failed to achieve their goal, Eslamic said.
He also criticized the West for failing to fulfill its commitments under the 2015 Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Eslami said that they breached their obligations and withdrew from the deal, and now they are engaged in sabre-rattling against Iran.
The official was referring to the 2018 US withdrawal from the JCPOA, which reinstated sanctions on Iran and threw the accord into disarray.
