Pres. Raisi: Iran, Lithuania enjoy abundant capacities to bolster ties

Tehran, IRNA - Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said on Monday that Iran and Lithuania have a variety of capacities to enhance economic and trade ties.

During a meeting with the Iranian President on Monday, the Accredited Ambassador of Lithuania Richard S. Digotis presented a copy of his credentials to President Raisi.

President Raisi said that Iran and Lithuania have a variety of capacities to promote economic and trade relations besides cooperation with each other.

Expressing the need to fulfill the West's commitments, the Iranian president highlighted that the Islamic Republic of Iran has fulfilled its obligations under the agreement as confirmed by all observers, but instead, the US has withdrawn from the agreement and European states have violated their obligations.

Describing the US and European countries' acts to pursue a resolution against Iran at the IAEA Board of Governors (BoG) during the negotiations as shameless and contrary to the requirements of negotiations and agreements, President Raisi pointed out that lifting oppressive sanctions against Iran will pave the way for agreement and cooperation.

Richard S. Digotis, for his part, said that as a member of the European Union, “I emphasize” that there is a good opportunity for further development of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
