Pres. Raisi tells nation: Improper act by US, E3 to submit IAEA resolution

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi criticized the US and the three European member states of the 2015 nuclear deal for pushing for an anti-Tehran resolution at the IAEA while negotiations for the revival of the deal still awaited a final outcome.

President Raisi said on Saturday night that what the US, as well as Germany, France and Britain did was very improper.

He made the remark during a televised address to the Iranian people, the sixth such address since he took office in August 2021.

The Iranian president was referring to the resolution that the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) adopted earlier in June.

The resolution, accusing Iran of failing to fully cooperate on its nuclear program, had been submitted by the US and the three European trio known as E3.

Raisi also referred to the existing sanctions on Iran, calling them cruel and against obligations promised by the US and Europe.

The Iranian president said that his administration is simultaneously working on the removal and evading the sanctions.

He added that his administration has already formed a task force headed by First Vice-President Mohammad Mokhber to work on evading the sanctions.
