London, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Bagheri kani arrived in London on Wednesday night at the third leg of his European tour.

Bagheri is heading a diplomatic delegation and is going to meet his British counterpart and several other officials from British foreign office on Thursday to discuss bilateral and regional issues.

Exchanging views on the resumption of talks in Vienna, Austria, on removing inhumane US sanctions against Iran would be another part of Bagheri’s meeting in London.

Bagheri previously met his German and French counterparts in Berlin and Paris. The Deputy Foreign Minister had said in a tweet on Monday,

Following recent consultations w/ foreign colleagues, will meet several European counterparts in upcoming days.Exchanges on bilateral & regional issues AWA future talks are on the agenda. We shall spare no effort in advancing our national interests incl removal of illegal sanctions

Iran and the remaining participants in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), informally known as the Iran nuclear deal, are going to resume their talks on the possible return of the US to the deal on November 29.

Iran and the so-called 4+1 had six rounds of talks earlier this year, but the talks faced an over 5-month halt since the power transition taking place in Iran, resulting in the presidency of Ebrahim Raisi.

The JCPOA was signed in 2015 between Iran and 6 world powers, including the US. However, former President Donald Trump left the deal despite Iran’s full compliance with the deal.
