Iranian, Afghan officials discuss situation of refugees

Kabul, IRNA – Iran's Ambassador in Kabul Bahador Aminian and ex-chairman of Afghanistan's High Council for National Reconciliation Abdullah Abdullah have held talks on situation of Afghan refugees, media office of Abdullah reported.

The two in their Monday meeting have discussed issue of migration of Afghan people to the neighboring countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.

After Taliban's takeover in Afghanistan more than two months ago, many Afghans have decided to migrate.

Since then, Iran and Pakistan, as two neighbors of Afghanistan, have witnessed a wave of migration from the country, which has made the two countries concerned.

Meanwhile, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been the host of Afghan refugees during the past four decades.

The refugees have enjoyed social, educational, and health services in Iran.

Iran has always stood by Afghan people in difficult conditions.
