During the phone conversation, Amirabdollahian strongly criticized South Korea for not providing Iran with access to its assets deposited at the South Korean banks.
The Iranian foreign minister called for swift removal of the problem created in the way of the Islamic Republic of Iran's access to its deposits in the South Korean banks.
Amirabdollahian reiterated that this should take place outside the present deadlock which has been caused for obeying the path drawn by the US in a bid to prevent the Islamic Republic of Iran from gaining access to its financial resources and subsequently prevent Iran from purchasing basic medicine and other basic needs.
"Unfortunately because of not investigating Iran's problem to gain access to its assets in South Korea and a halt to trade exchanges between the two countries and even restrictions to dispatch of humanitarian aid, the Iranian people are severely discontent with this situation and the continuation of this situation is quite intolerable for them," he added.
The South Korean foreign minister, for his part, underlined that the problems should be resolved, and said that he will follow up Iran's access to its assets in South Korea.
Chung Eui-yong also voiced concern over the news reports on a ban on export of the South Korean products to Iran and called for taking into consideration.
