Iran, Russia consult on expansion of peaceful nuclear cooperation

Moscow, IRNA – Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) in a meeting here on Tuesday consulted with the Head of Rosatom Alexey Likhachev on broadening cooperation on peaceful nuclear energy field.

The Iranian and Russian officials in this meeting in the presence of the Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali, negotiated on issues of mutual interest in nuclear field.

Both sides agreed that keeping in mind Iran and Russia’s comprehensive strategic relations, their cooperation in peaceful nuclear energy field, too, must be pursued at a very faster pace.

Eslami said that the two countries’ peaceful nuclear energy cooperation, including on construction of new reactors and further development of the Bushehr Nuclear Reactor proceeds well, adding that this cooperation must further be expanded to a greater level than ever before.”

Alexey Likhachev, too, welcomed further deepening of mutual cooperation in the peaceful nuclear field.

Vice President and Head of IAEO arrived in Moscow on Tuesday for talks with his Russian counterpart and was received at the airport by the Iranian ambassador, embassy staff, and Rosatom officials.
