The conference entitled "Virtues, Life and Sufferings of, Imam Zain al-Abedin (AS)", was held on Thursday in Lahore, the capital of Punjab Province to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the fourth Imam of the Shia Muslims.
Each of the participants explained the aspects of struggle of the blessed life of Imam Sajjad (AS) after the tragic event of Ashura and during the cruel rule of the Umayyads.

The Iranian cultural attaché in Lahore said that Imam Sajjad (AS), through his knowledge, gave an accurate and wonderful answer to every question that was asked from him.
Muddaththir Azami, a Pakistani poet, highlighted distinguished characteristics of Hazrat Imam Zain al-Abedin (AS).
Dr. Kamil Qazelbash, a Pakistani writer, called the tragic event of Karbala the greatest tragedy for Imam Sajjad (AS) and said that, unfortunately, in our religious circles in Pakistan, the character of Imam Sajjad (AS) is not expressed as it should be.
He considered the prayer of Sahifa Sajjadieh as the greatest literary and religious masterpiece by the Imam.
Sadia Waseem, a Pakistani religious activist, said that the tragic event of Karbala affected the blessed life of Imam Zin al-Abedin (AS) that he spent most of the nights in worshiping and in the day he used to narrate the incident of Ashura to the people.
Hafiz Faisal, one of the Pakistani scholars, also explained the historical words of Hazrat Sajjad (AS) in Yazid's court and said the fiery words of Imam Sajjad (AS) and his aunt Hazrat Zainab (AS) shook the Umayyads.
