Tehran, IRNA – Slovenian Ambassador to Tehran Kristina Radej said in a message that her country and the international community will defend the commitments stipulated in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), as well as de-escalation in the region.

In the message issued on the occasion of the Statehood Day of Slovenia, June 25, Radej expressed honor to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her country’s independence in Tehran.

She also said that due to the coronavirus pandemic, there would be no ceremonies held but an online event would be held.

She went on to voice Slovenia's full support for the JCPOA and believed the international community will safeguard the deal and reduction of tensions in the region.

Slovenia gained independence in June 1991; and diplomatic ties between Tehran and Ljubljana started on March 9, 1992.
