Farzad Piltan, the director general of the Arab and African Bureau of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, said 30 percent of Iran’s exports to Iraq included agricultural products and food industries including diary products, dried fruit, etc.
Iranian products have active presence in Iraqi market, Piltan said referring to report of Trade Promotion Organization.
To review ways to widen exports of Iran’s agricultural products to Iraq, a meeting is slated for June 8 in Tehran, the official added.
According to latest report of Iran Customs Administration, the value of trade exchange between Iran and other states has been 12.8 billion dollars in Ordibehesht - the second Iranian month which falls between April 21 and May 21 - and the figure shows a 38-percent increase compared with that in the preceding year.
Iraq has been the second in Iran’s first five exports destinations.
