Italian Parliament Speaker stresses expansion of parliamentary cooperation with Iran

Rome, 14 November, IRNA - Italian Parliament Speaker Roberto Fico announced his country’s readiness to extend parliamentary cooperation between Iran and Italy, stressing the support of the government and the Italian parliament for Iran's nuclear agreement.

Head of the Italian Parliament at the meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Rome Hamid Bayat said the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) indicated that negotiations are best and the most appropriate way to solve problems, so Italy is working together with the European Union to make JCPOA serve as a basis for consideration of negotiations and discussions to resolve problems and conflicts.

Fico emphasized the continuation of talks in the interested areas of the two countries as well as emphasizing the support for the development of relations with Iran and the readiness of the Italian parliament to extend parliamentary cooperation.

Commending the invitation from the Speaker of Iranian Parliament Ali Larijani to travel to Tehran, he expressed hope that this expedition will be realized in the near future.
