Iranian embassy condemns terrorist attack in Berlin's market

Berlin, Dec 27, IRNA – Iranian Embassy in Berlin condemned last week's terrorist attack in a Christmas market in Berlin which resulted in death and injury of several people.

A man rammed a 7-ton truck into a crowded Christmas market in the heart of Berlin, killing 12 people and injuring 48. He was later identified by German media as a 23-year-old refugee of Pakistani origin who arrived in the country via the ‘Balkan route’.

The officials at the Iranian Embassy in Berlin condemned the terrorist attack of Berlin's Christmas market and sympathized with the bereaved families of the victims while deploring such inhumane acts.

Moreover, the Iranian Embassy also in a message issued on the same occasion laid emphasis on the need for solidarity and unity among all nations and governments in relentless ongoing fight against the phenomenon of terrorism.

Also, Iranian Embassy officials, in meetings with some German authorities, while expressing their deepest sorrow over the terrorist incident, informed them that the Embassy had cancelled a pre-planned ceremony on the occasion of Yalda night, an Iranian festival celebrated to mark the longest night of the year.
