Iran launches 1st mini refinery

Tehran, Feb 10, IRNA -- Concurrent with the 36th anniversary of the victory of Islamic Revolution, the first oil mini refinery became operational in southwestern city of Khoramshahr.

The refinery has been financed and built by private sector at a cost of 500 billion rials, shana.ir reported.

Managing director of the refinery Parviz Khodadadi said the facility can produce between 5 and 8 thousand barrels of oil products, 70 percent of which is euro-4 gasoline and the remaining products include gasoil and polymeric bitumen.

He noted that the mini refinery takes gas condensate, crude oil and naphtha as feedstock.

The refinery has created jobs for 120 people directly and 200 people indirectly.

The project was built in less than two years and 70 oil experts have taken part in its building by spending 300 thousand hour.

The mini refinery dubbed Peyman Ramshir Polymer has been designed, built and installed by domestic experts who have considered all requirements of preserving environment.
