Iran congratulates Iraq for liberation of Jurf Al Sakhar region

Tehran, Oct 28, IRNA - Deputy Foreign Minister for Afro-Arab Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian on Tuesday congratulated the Iraqi government and nation on liberation of Jurf Al Sakhar region.

Talking to IRNA, he noted that liberation of Jurf Al Sakhar region from the control of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorists showed Iraq's Army and government capabilities.

Freedom of Jurf Al-Sakhar is a key to liberation of all the occupied areas in Iraq, Amirabdollahian added.

Rejecting any type of foreign interference in Iraq that tarnishes the country's sovereignty, he said the Iraqi nation and government are committed to safeguard the country's sovereignty and national unity.

Iraqi security forces liberated Jurf al-Sakhar on Friday.

The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently control parts of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities, including Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians and Ezadi Kurds, by continuing their atrocities in Iraq.

Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Persian Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.

The ISIL has links with Saudi intelligence and is believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.
