FM calls for immediate stop of Israel attacks on Gaza

Tehran, July 28, IRNA - Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif in a phone conversation with his UAE counterpart on Monday called for mobilization of Muslim states to help stop Zionist regime's attacks on Gaza.

Zarif called on the Islamic countries to dispatch food and medicines to Gaza.

Criticizing Zionist regime's brutal assaults on besieged Gaza, he underscored that any type of ceasefire should meet Palestinian's demands including removal of Gaza siege and guaranteeing cessation of attacks.

Abdullah bin Zayed for his part voiced hope for the immediate stop of Israeli attacks on Palestinians.

He underlined the need for cooperation among Muslim states to increase support for defenseless Palestinians.

Gaza has been blockaded by the Israeli regime since 2007, a situation that has caused a decline in the standard of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment, and unrelenting poverty.

More than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 5,000 others injured in recent Israeli offensive on Gaza started on July 8.
