Iran's deputy judiciary chief resigns amid sons' corruption trial

Tehran, IRNA — Iran’s Deputy Judiciary Chief Mohammad Mosaddegh has resigned amid the corruption trial of his sons.

Mosaddegh offered his resignation as two of his sons are faced with charges of interference in some judicial cases, according to the judiciary.

In his resignation letter, Mosaddegh noted that he had no connection with any of the judges related to the case since the beginning of the trial.

He also thanked Judiciary Chief Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejeie and noted that he remains loyal to the ideals of the Islamic Revolution.

Mosaddegh was appointed as Iran’s deputy chief of judiciary in June 2021.
