The Army Radio said in a report on Wednesday that some reserve forces from the Nahal Brigade had left Gaza last night.
The Nahal Brigade has been fighting in northern Gaza. The infantry force has also been tasked with controlling Gaza’s west coast.
The 646th Paratroopers Brigade will now be the only Israeli force stationed in the southern city of Khan Yunis, a major target of Israeli assaults in recent weeks, according to the report.
The Army Radio also reported that Israeli troops had pulled back from the northern occupied territories along the border with Lebanon, where clashes with Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement have been a daily occurrence since early October.
Additionally, the radio said that a plan to flood subterranean tunnels in Gaza with seawater was not successful.
It said the Israeli army halted the operation, as channeling seawater into the tunnels in central and northern Gaza did not go according to plan.
