Iran FM discusses Gaza truce with resistance leaders in Lebanon

Tehran, IRNA- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has met with senior officials with the Islamic Jihad and Hamas resistance movements during his visit to Lebanon.

Amirabdollahian met with Ziad al-Nakhalah, the secretary general of Palestinian Islamic Jihad Resistance Movement, Khalil al-Hayya, deputy chief of the Hamas political bureau in the Gaza Strip, on Wednesday as part of his official visit to Beirut.

The key topics of the joint meeting between the Iranian foreign minister and the resistance officials were the recent developments in Gaza and a pending four-day truce deal reached between Hamas and the Israeli regime.

They also discussed the much-needed delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged people of Gaza, who have endured 47 days of incessant air and ground raids by the Israeli military, as well as a total blockade cutting off supplies of food, water, fuel and medicine.   

Upon arriving in Beirut earlier ealier today, Amirabdollahian hailed the heroic resistance put up by Palestinian groups over the past six weeks, and said time was not on the side of the Israeli regime if the war dragged on.

“Undoubtedly, the future of Gaza and the future of Palestine will only be determined by the Palestinian people,” he stated.
