The agreement was inked in the presence of Head of Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Mohammad-Mehdi Imanipour and Chinese Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of China Lu Yingchuan at the headquarters of the Iranian organization in capital Tehran, the IRNA reported on Sunday.
Imanipour said that given the two nations' enthusiasm to develop their relationship, he hopes the cultural exchange MoU will pave the way for expansion of bilateral cooperation.
The formation of a joint cultural committee reflects the development of relations between the two states, the Iranian official said, adding that he hopes holding future meetings in shorter intervals will pave the ground for the improvement of the relationship.
Yingchuan, for his part, expressed hope that in the next phase of implementing mutual cultural exchanges, the two sides would be able to expand cultural and artistic collaborations.
Both sides should carry out a series of projects prior to holding the joint committee in a bid to deepen relations, and based on this efforts, cultural cooperation between the two countries can move forward in all arenas, he underlined.
