-- Iran-China nine-month trade surpasses $10b

China’s Customs in its latest report said the trade exchanges between China and Iran in the first nine months of 2023 (January-September) surpassed $10 billion.
The value of the trade exchanges between Iran and China in the first nine months of the current year hit $10.79 billion, showing a 12 percent decline compared to last year’s corresponding period, the report said.

--  Tehran to host six-nation meeting on Caucasus peace process

Foreign ministers from Iran, Turkey, Russia and Georgia will meet their counterparts from Azerbaijan and Armenia in Tehran today and discuss progress towards a peace agreement between the two South Caucasus neighbors, according to Iranian state media.
IRNA quoted the Iranian Foreign Ministry as saying the six countries wanted to talk about regional issues “without the interference of non-regional and Western countries”.

--  Iran dispatches 4th humanitarian aid to quake-hit Afghanistan

In response to a series of devastating earthquakes in neighboring Afghanistan, Iran has sent its fourth consignment of humanitarian aid to the affected areas.
Hadi Ramezani, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society in Taybad, announced that a 40-ton shipment was dispatched from the Dowqarun border. The aid, which includes essential items such as food, blankets, and carpets, was collected by the residents of Taybad. It will be distributed among the Afghan people in the Zinda Jan district of Herat.


--  Iran Warns Warmongers of Inconceivable Consequences

Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian of Iran on Sunday warned the occupying regime of Israel and its mentor, the U.S., of the inconceivable consequences of the genocide of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.
“The region is now a powder keg and any miscalculation, genocide and forced displacement of people in Gaza can have consequences for the region and warmongers alike,” Amir-Abdollahian said in a joint press conference with his South African counterpart Naledi Pandor here.

--  Output at Iran’s Largest Hydroelectric Power Plant Up 60%

Iran’s largest hydroelectric power plant, Karun-3 Dam, has reported a 60% increase in power production in the current water year, which began on September 23, compared to the same period last year.
Seyyed Hamid Salehi, the CEO of the production and operation management company of Karun-3 Dam, announced the boost in energy generation on Sunday.

--  CEO: Iran to Construct 9 Petrochemical Parks to Boost Production

The chief executive of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company Abdolali Aliaskari said on Sunday that nine petrochemical parks will be constructed in Chabahar, Jask, Sirik, Parsian, Naiband, Assaluyeh, Dashtestan and Genaveh, Deylam, Omidieh and the Arvand Free Zone.
Some $5.5 billion in investment is needed for the construction operation of the aforementioned petrochemical parks, Aliaskari said, adding, “If these petrochemical parks are put into operation, 4.65 million tons of petrochemicals will be produced annually with a yielding of $6.9 billion foreign exchange.”


-- Iran’s rower Hosseinpour collects gold at 2022 Asian Para Games

Saeid Hosseinpour of Iran won a gold medal in the Men's KL1 of the 2022 Asian Para Games on Monday.

Hosseinpour crossed the line first with a time of 50.468 seconds. China’s Xiaowei Yu and Maxim Bogatyrev of Kazakhstan won silver and bronze with 51.256 and 58.479, respectively.

A total of 128 male athletes represent Iran in 16 events and 82 female athletes compete in 11 events.

-- Cinema Museum to screen restored version of Dariush Mehrjui's “The Cow” 

The restored version of “The Cow” directed by the late filmmaker Dariush Mehrjui will be screened at the Cinema Museum of Iran in north of Tehran on October 24.

This version of the film also contains footages from behind the scene of the movie. After screening the film, Ahmad Talebinejad, director, writer, and critic, will speak about Mehrjui’s cinematic career and especially his symbolic film “The Cow,” Mehr reported on Sunday.

--  WHO urged not to be negligent in providing healthcare to Gaza

Health Minister Bahram Einollahi has urged the World Health Organization not to be negligent in providing healthcare to people in Gaza and send necessary medical and therapeutic equipment to the region.

Unfortunately, some international organizations are silent in this regard and their silence shows inefficiency, ISNA quoted Einollahi as saying. The Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip on Saturday warned of the “real danger” to the lives of the wounded and sick people if fuel is not provided to hospitals in the besieged enclave.
