-- Iran’s H1 economic growth hits 5.8%: CBI

The growth rate of Iran’s economy in the first six months of 2023 reached an average of 5.8 percent, while the investment growth in 2022 hit 6.7 percent, announced the governor-general of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).
Mohammadreza Farzin announced the figures in the meeting of the heads of central banks and ministers of the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan (MENAP) region, which was held Sunday in Morocco, with the inaugural speech of Kristalina Georgieva, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

-- IRANTEX expo kicks off in Tehran

Iran’s Minister of Industry Abbas Aliabadi inaugurated the 29th IRANTEX International Exhibition: Textile Machinery, Raw Materials, Home Textiles, Embroidery Machines & Textile Products in Tehran on Sunday.
Some 160 domestic companies and 180 foreign companies from Germany, Italy, Taiwan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, South Korea, Turkey, India, Japan, Spain and China are showcasing their latest products and achievements in this edition of the exhibition, Tasnim news agency reported. Simultaneously, the 10th International Apparel Exhibition (IRAN MOD 2023) and the 10th International Exhibition of Footwear, Bag, Leather, and Related Industries (MPEX 2023) were inaugurated at the venue of the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds. They will run until October 18.

--  A century of Iranian calligraphy on display in Tehran

An exhibition featuring an overview of a century of the development of Iranian calligraphy, titled, ‘The Pioneers of Calligraphy,’ is underway at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.
The exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of a century of calligraphy development in Iran, spanning from the Qajar era to the early 1970s. It features a selection of remarkable artworks from the collections of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, the Iranian Calligraphy Museum, and the Iranian Calligraphers’ Association.

-- Hamas, Iran Agree to Continue Cooperation

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh met with Iran’s foreign minister on Saturday in Qatar, where they discussed the Palestinian movement group’s operation inside Occupied Palestine “and agreed to continue cooperation” to achieve the group’s goals, Hamas said in a statement.
During their meeting, Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian praised the operation as a “historic victory” that had dealt a setback to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory.

--  Brazil, Iran Review BRICS Mechanism for Banking Cooperation

Top financial officials of Iran and Brazil have met to exchange views about making use of potentials to develop bilateral trade ties and multilateral relations under the BRICS emerging economies’ mechanism.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 2023 annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Morocco between Governor of Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Mohammad Reza Farzin and his Brazilian counterpart Roberto Campos Neto, it is reported on Sunday.

-- Muslim nations must act quickly to halt Israeli “killing machine,” Raisi says

 Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has stated that the world’s Muslim nations and free nations must take “decisive and immediate” measures to halt Israel’s “killing machine” as the conflict in Gaza continues to cost more civilian lives.

In a phone conversation with Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Saturday, Raisi highlighted that the unrestricted backing by Western nations, notably the United States, for Israel’s misdeeds has led to greater complications and worsening of the situation.

--  Iran’s September oil output rises 15,000 bpd: OPEC

- Iran produced 3.058 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil in September, registering a 15,000-bpd increase compared to the previous month, according to OPEC’s latest monthly report. Based on secondary sources, Iran produced 3.043 million bpd of crude oil in August.

The Islamic Republic’s average crude output for the third quarter of 2023 stood at 2.990 million bpd indicating a 292,000-bpd increase compared to the figure for the second quarter of the year, the report said.

--  64 green schools to be constructed: official

 A total of 64 eco-schools will be built across the country meeting green management standards, the director of the Organization for Development, Renovation, and Equipping Schools has said.

Hamidreza Khanmohammadi, while calling the environment a vital issue, stated, "Green management includes reducing energy, water, raw materials, equipment, and paper consumption, and recycling solid waste".
