Brigadier-General Ahmad-Ali Goudarzi revealed on Monday that the border guards of Sistan and Baluchestan province, along with the maritime guards of Chabahar port city, both situated in southeastern Iran, had been monitoring the activities of two major drug trafficking gangs, which led to the discovery of plans by these gangs to smuggle substantial drug consignments.
Upon receiving the information, the border guards promptly initiated two separate operations. Utilizing naval and combat engagement techniques, the forces successfully intercepted and thwarted the smugglers at sea.
The seized shipments comprised six metric tons of various narcotics, including hashish, heroin, and opium. Additionally, 21 colts, 2,100 bullets, and 42 magazines were also confiscated during the operation.
