Protests held against Netanyahu’s judicial reform for 38th week

Tehran, IRNA – Israelis have filled the streets for the 38th week in a row to voice their anger at the controversial judicial reform pushed by the Zionist regime’s far-right cabinet led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Protests were held in Tel Aviv and other areas in the occupied territories on Saturday, September 23.

Demonstrators say they will not allow Netanyahu to destroy “democracy” and create what they call a dictatorship.

The protesters issued a statement denouncing what they described as “threats against the judges of the High Court and the intention to disobey their rulings,” Zionist media reported.

Netanyahu introduced the judicial overhaul in January 2023, causing public uproar over what critics see as damage to the independence of the court and opening door to corruption, among other things.

He has been pushing for the reform in defiance of public calls to scrap it, as he is facing corruption charges.

The reform has caused the worst political and social crisis for the Zionist regime in years.

It has sent sending the shekel down, while affecting the military as some reservists have said that they would not report for voluntary duty, raising warnings by the Zionist military chiefs that the regime’s war readiness could be at risk.

Various polls have also shown that many Israelis are considering to emigrate as they believe that the situation is getting worse.
