At the end of his official visit to Russia on Wednesday, Brigadier General Heidari said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has shown that it is serious in the fight against terrorism and will not only continue its interactions with Russia in this area, but such cooperation is deepening day by day.
Describing his visit to Russia as “timely” and “fruitful”, he stated that they reached good agreements during a meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Army's Ground Forces General Oleg Salyukov.
Referring to the development of cooperation in counterterrorism as part of the agreement between Iran and Russia, he underlined that the two countries are determined to expand cooperation in fighting against terrorism.
He praised the presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s pavilion alongside 70 countries at Russia’s Army-2023 International Military-Technical Forum, adding that the capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in various fields of land, sea, aerospace, missile, and electronic warfare surprised visitors and participants in this exhibition.
On Sunday, the first day of his trip to Moscow, the Iranian commander visited the Islamic Republic of Iran's stand at Russia’s Army-2023 International Military-Technical Forum in Patriot Park near Moscow.
Also, the Commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Forces and Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin reviewed the development of defense cooperation in a meeting on Wednesday.
The two sides discussed issues of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation. They exchanged opinions on the issues of bilateral security.
The two sides reaffirmed their intention to deepen dialogue, and increase the level of development of contact in the defense sphere, TASS reported citing the Russian Defense Ministry.
