The protestors set up a “tent city” at the HaSira Intersection in Herzliya on Thursday, burning tires and lighting flares to impede the passage of vehicles before police arrived, the Zionist news outlet Israel National News reported.
After an hour-long confrontation with the protesters, Israeli police forces managed to reopen the intersection for vehicle traffic.
In another event, dozens of demonstrated hoisted a large banner near the Karkur intersection that read, “No entry to dictatorship.”
In other parts of the occupied territories, protesters faced off with police in a strong show of resentments over Netanyahu’s policies.
The largest protests are scheduled for 4 pm at Ben Gurion Airport.
Netanyahu announced the judicial overhaul plan in January after returning to power at the head of the most hard-line coalition of parties.
Opponents say Netanyahu seeks to undermine the authority of the courts at a time when he faces corruption charges.
