-- UN Yemen envoy says in ‘close contact’ with Iranian, Saudi officials on peace in Yemen
United Nations’ Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg said on Monday that he is maintaining close contact with officials from Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in order for peace efforts to progress in Yemen.
Speaking at a virtual briefing with reporters on the situation in Yemen, Grundberg said Ansarallah officials have been engaged in talks with Saudi negotiators over the past days in an effort to bring an end to the years-long war in Yemen.
-- Non-oil exports hit record high of $53b
Iran’s non-oil exports have reached a record-breaking $53 billion in the previous year, according to the latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA). This marks a significant 10% increase in the value of non-oil exports compared to the previous year. The data also reveals that Iran’s total trade, including both imports and exports, surged to an impressive $113 billion during the same period.

Latest data by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) show that Iran was the third largest producer of honey in the world in 2022.
FAO figures covered in a report by the IRIB News showed that Iranian bee farmers had produced some 77,000 metric tons (mt) of honey last year, down by 3.75% from 2021.

-- Iran, Saudi Arabia to Resume Postal Ties Soon After Relations Thaw
TEHRAN – CEO of the National Post Company of Iran Mahmoud Layali on Tuesday said that Iran and Saudi Arabia will resume their ties in postal affairs in the very near future.
He then expounded on the Exhibition of “Post Industry”, which will be held at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla (Congregational Prayers Site) in June and noted that the latest achievements and capabilities of the country in the post industry would be showcased in this exhibition.

Peace, prestige, and power are closely interlinked power and are essential for protection security and safeguarding stability of a nation, as well as that of the region from predators.
In other words, a powerless and defenceless country, however peaceful its policies, is an easy target for aggressors against its sovereignty, occupiers of its territory, and exploiters of its rich natural resources.
This was the gist of the message of President Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi yesterday in his nationally and internationally broadcast speech while reviewing the latest means of defence produced by Iran and addressing a parade on Army National Day of the four divisions of the Army – the ground Force, the navy, the air force, and the air defense.

The short film ‘Knife, Chocolate’ directed by Hooshmand Varai has won the ‘Exceptional Merit’ award at WRPN Women’s International Film Festival, said head of Iranian Youth Cinema Society of Kermanshah Province Kamran Rezaie. The festival, about female filmmakers or films with women’s concerns, is held in Delaware.
Rezaie said the movie narrates the story of the end of an abnormal family and is against gender discrimination. Varai had earlier received an honorary diploma from an experimental short film in Iran as well as awards from Italy, Saint Petersburg, Russia; Belgrade, Serbia; Zurich, Switzerland; Istanbul, Turkey; Nairobi, Kenya; and Mumbai festivals.

-- Army defends territorial integrity against hostile threats: top general
Iran’s top general praised the Army for its role in defending the nation’s territorial integrity in the face of all hostile actions. Major General Mohammad Baqeri, the chief of staff of the armed forces, made the comments on Monday in a message to Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, the Army chief.
Congratulating General Mousavi on National Army Day, which fell on April 18 this year, Baqeri pointed out that the Army has made remarkable strides in a number of defense-related areas.
-- Iran to participate at Jordan football tournament
Iran national football team will participate in the Jordan’s four-team tournament. The football federation of Iran has confirmed the news. The event will bring Jordan, Iran, Iraq and Qatar together in October in Amman.
Team Melli will also take part in the CAFA tournament in Kyrgyzstan, slated for June 12 to 20. Amir Ghalenoei was named head of Iran national football team in March and the Persians were held to a 1-1 draw by Russia and defeated Kenya 2-1 under his leadership in two friendlies.
-- Iran’s annual non-oil export up 10%
The value of Iran’s non-oil export rose 10 percent in the past Iranian calendar year 1401 (ended on March 20), the spokesman of Trade Development Committee of the Iranian House of Industry, Mining, and Trade announced. Ruhollah Latifi said that 122.056 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $53.166 billion were exported in the previous year.
China with the purchase of $14.584 billion of commodities (no change), Iraq with $10.238 billion (15 percent growth), Turkey with $7.459 billion (23 percent growth), the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with $5.767 billion (28 percent growth), and India with $2.146 billion (18 percent growth) were the first five export destinations of Iranian goods in 1401, the official stated.
