By God’s Grace, 22 Bahman This Year Will Be Manifestation of Unity

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday the main goal of the enemy is to bring the Islamic Republic to its knees and destroy it by creating discord and distrust within the country.

“The most important task in the face of this evil plot is to maintain the strategy of unity,” the Leader told a group of commanders and officers of the Iranian Air Force and Air Defense here.

President Hails Launch of Six Satellites

President Ebrahim Raisi on Wednesday admired Iran’s scientists for launching six homegrown satellites in the current Persian year. Addressing a weekly cabinet meeting, Raisi praised advances in the space industry as an outstanding example of Iran’s scientific and technological progress.

On Tuesday, Iran unveiled “Nahid-2” telecommunication and “Tolou-3” remote sensing satellites.

Iran’s Yazdani Tops UWW Ranking in Freestyle

The United World Wrestling (UWW) has posted updates to the 2023 rankings in freestyle, naming Hassan Yazdani from Iran the number one in the ranking.

Previously, Hassan Yazdani was used to be in the 4th place in the ranking in the weight class of 86 kg.

At present, the Iranian freestyler has become the world’s best athlete with 48,000 points.

440 industrial projects being inaugurated during Ten-Day Dawn

Some 440 industrial projects are going operational in Iran during the Ten-Day Dawn (February 1-11), which marks the 44th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Deputy Industry, Mining, and Trade Minister Mehdi Baradaran announced.

According to Baradaran, seven of the mentioned projects worth 10 trillion rials (about $25.2 million) are going to be inaugurated in Khuzestan Province which create direct job opportunities for over 600 people in this province, IRIB reported.

Neighbors alone unable to assure long-term peace in Afghanistan

Iran’s senior security official has cautioned that “transregional intervention” in Afghanistan can spread unrest to other nations in the region. Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), spoke on Wednesday at the fifth session of the regional security conference in Moscow and criticized the U.S. for continuing to use Afghanistan as a platform to support terrorism and insecurity.

Raisi authorizes Iran SCO membership

President Ebrahim Raisi sent a directive to the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday to put the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) law into effect.

The decision to begin recognizing Iran as a full member of the SCO was announced at the 21st summit of the SCO leaders held in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, in September 2021. The legislation for Iran’s SCO membership was overwhelmingly adopted by the Iranian parliament in November 2022.

Outrage over Charlie Hebdo’s temblor cartoon

Infamous French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo has sparked outrage on social media once again after it published a cartoon appearing to make light of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that killed thousands in Türkiye and Syria.

The drawing by artist Pierrick Juin showed teetering buildings amid heaps of rubble with the caption: “Don’t even need to send tanks,” Al Jazeera reported.

Tehran, Moscow on path of strategic cooperation

Over the past decades, relations between Iran and Russia have seen ups and downs. But their ties have never been as close as today. The improvement of relations follows decades of experiences and trials and errors as well as new conditions facing both countries.

Since 2015, the leaders of the two countries have reached an understanding that the improvement of their ties is inevitable. These relations are now mainly based on bilateral ties. Before this, their relations were temporary and mostly based on regional issues.

US renews Iran sanctions waivers for civilian nuclear activities

The United States renewed a series of sanctions waivers that will allow Iran and Russia to cooperate on civilian nuclear work at Iranian uranium enrichment sites, amid stalled talks to bring the Washington back into full compliance with the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement.

According to a non-public notification sent to the US Congress and obtained by American political journalism website the Washington Free Beacon, Secretary of State Antony Blinken authorized the waivers on January 31, but Congress was not notified of the decision until late on February 3, after the Washington Free Beacon began making inquiries about the exemptions, Press TV reported.
