Ambassador Najafi Khoshroudi was speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of a visit to Oman by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian.
He expressed satisfaction with Iran’s political relations with Oman and said that the economic relations between the two countries are growing compatible with their political relations.
The ambassador said that Iran and Oman have posted a 73% growth in bilateral trade over the first eight months of the Iranian calendar year (March 21 – November 21).
Noting that the two countries are actively cooperating in four areas of trade, energy, transit and transportation, and banking interactions, Ambassador Najafi Khoshroudi said that there are high-level visits on the agenda in the near future to pursue cooperation in these areas.
Oman has played a balanced and wise role in dealing with issues related to Iranian foreign policy, he said, expressing hope that the underway visit to Oman will help the growing level of strategic relations between Tehran and Muscat.
