-- Raeisi: Enemy made ‘scandalous miscalculation’ in instigating riots

President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi said the enemy made a “scandalous miscalculation” by instigating the recent riots over the death of a young woman of Kurdish descent in Iran, but the Iranian nation thwarted their plots to stoke insecurity and chaos across the country.

Raeisi made the remarks in a Thursday visit to Iran's northwestern city of Sanandaj, Kurdestan’s provincial capital, where violent protests initially broke out after the 22-year-old Mahsa Amini died in a Tehran hospital on September 16, three days after collapsing at a police station

-- Iran’s gas exports to Turkey up 70% in October: Eurostat

Figures by the European Union’s statistical office (Eurostat) showed that supply of natural gas from Iran to Turkey rose by 70% year on year in October.
Eurostat figures indicated that Iran has exported 671 million cubic meters (mcm) of natural gas to Turkey in October. Iran had supplied 395 mcm of gas to Turkey in October 2021, said the EU agency.

-- Venezuelan, Iranian oil ministers discuss energy ties

– Oil ministers of Venezuela and Iran held a phone call to review bilateral collaborations as well as the latest developments in the international energy market.
During a phone conversation on Thursday, Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji and his Venezuelan counterpart Tareck El Aissami called for expansion of cooperation in the energy sector.

-- UNESCO Registers 4 Iranian Inscriptions as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity

Iran wins four joint inscriptions on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. “Yalda Night or Shab-e-Chella”, practiced in Iran and Afghanistan, as well as crafting and playing the musical instrument “Oud” have been registered on the global list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity during the 17th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
“Yalda refers to a traditional celebration of the sun and the warmth of life. Practiced in Iran and Afghanistan, the event takes place on the last night of autumn, when families gather at the houses of elders and sit around a table adorned with a series of symbolic objects and foods,” writes UNESCO on its official platform.

-- Qatari FM Praises Team Melli Performance in 2022 World Cup

Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in a phone call with his Iranian counterpart has praised the performance of Iran Iran’s national football team (Team Melli) in the 2022 World Cup.
During a phone conversation on Thursday night, Iran’s top diplomat Hussein Amir-Abdollahian and his Qatari counterpart discussed several issues including Tehran-Doha bilateral relations, as well as the 2022 World Cup which is underway in Qatar.

-- Army Chief: Armed Forces Ready to Foil Threat

The chief commander of the Iranian Army say the country’s armed forces are fully prepared to take on any foreign threat that could be facing the Islamic Republic.
“The vessels of the Iranian Navy are currently engaged in defending the Islamic Republic’s interests in high seas,” Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said during a ceremony here.

-- Isfahan, Saint Petersburg consider joint tourism co-op

Isfahan and Saint Petersburg are considering the development of tourism cooperation, a local official said on Thursday. Working groups from Isfahan province and counterparts from Russia’s Saint Petersburg and Moscow are scheduled to explore ways to develop tourism ties, Majid Shams said.

“One of the most important policies of the [Iranian] government is to expand economic and cultural cooperation with neighboring countries, therefore, there is a serious determination in Isfahan province to increase cooperation with various provinces of neighboring countries,” the official explained.

-- Iran football needs to change mindset

Iran were knocked out of the FIFA World Cup for the third time in a row and for the sixth time in history. It means the football needs to review its policy. Iran, the first-ranked Asian football team, had a golden chance to end their draught in the World Cup but the dream didn’t come true.

Team Melli suffered a heavy 6-2 loss against England and also were edged by the U.S. 1-0 and just earned a 2-0 win against Wales. Among the Asian teams, Iran showed a very poor performance and on the other hand, Japan and Australia shone in group stage and will represent Asia at Round of 16.

--Turkmen-style needlework named UNESCO heritage

Turkmen-style needlework has been inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Iran and Turkmenistan jointly gained the honor at the 17th session of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which was held in Morocco on Wednesday.
