--Iran FM: Addressing Turkiye’s concerns in need of Ankara-Damascus security talks

The Iranian foreign minister said the Islamic Republic understands Turkiye’s security concerns along the Syrian border, noting that their removal requires continuation of security talks between the two countries.

Making the remarks in a phone call with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu on Tuesday evening, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian added Tehran is ready to use its capacities to help solve the differences between the two neighboring countries.

--MP: West blocks Iran’s access to rare diseases medicine

The United States and its Western supporters carried out the worst action in human history by preventing exports of medicines for rare diseases to Iran through sanctions on the country, said an MP.

Making the remark in an exclusive interview with Iran Daily, Masoud Khatami, a member of the Iranian Parliament’s Health and Treatment Committee, added, at present, patients suffering from epidermolysis bullosa (EB) in Iran are suffering excruciating agony due to a lack of access to necessary dressings and medicine.

--Ministry: No COVID-19 Death for Sixth Day

Iran’s Health Ministry on Wednesday said it had registered no coronavirus-related deaths in past 24 hours for the sixth day in a row.

With no one dying from the coronavirus-19, the total number of deaths from the respiratory disease remained at 144,633, it added. The ministry, however, detected 42 new cases of infection with COVID-19 during the period, 21 of whom were hospitalized.

--Iran Tells Turkey Not to Complicate Situation

Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian said Wednesday Iran is ready to use its capacities to help solve problems between Ankara and Damascus as Turkey prepares for a fresh ground aggression in Syria.

“We understand Turkey’s security concerns and stress the need to address them. The key to the problem, however, requires continuation of security talks between the two countries and not ground military operations. These steps will not help resolution of existing problems; but would cause losses and complicate the situation,” Amir-Abdollahian told his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu over phone.

--Minister: Situation in Western Border Cities Calm

Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi said Wednesday security situation in Iran’s western border cities is calm, following a wave of deadly riots and unrest there.

Speaking to reporters, Vahidi however warned that despite calm prevailing in the cities bordering Iraq, terrorist and separatist groups on the other side of the borders seek to incite turmoil in those regions, urging officials to stay on alert.

--Iran welcomes expansion of energy ties with Iraq: Raisi

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has said his country is seeking expansion of energy ties with neighbor Iraq, Shana reported.

Raisi made the remarks in a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Iraq Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani who arrived in the Iranian capital Tuesday morning to hold talks with the authorities of the Islamic Republic.

--Iran summons French ambassador

French Ambassador to Iran Nicolas Roche was summoned to the Iranian foreign ministry on Wednesday over the French foreign minister’s remarks about the situation in Iran and adoption of a resolution against Iran by the French National Assembly.
