Iran’s inflation rate drops by 19.7% in 13th gov’t

Tehran, IRNA – The inflation rate in Iran has fallen by 19.7% compared to the last year under President Ebrahim Raisi's government, according to statistics released by the Central Bank of Iran.

Since its activities, the 13th government in Iran has made controlling inflation one of its most serious priorities. In this regard, set of policies and measures have been developed and taken in different areas to identify and control the factors affecting inflation.

The 12-month inflation rate dropped from 59.3 percent to 39.6 percent at the end of September in the current Iranian year of 1401 compared to the same period last year.

Earlier, Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi highlighted the concerns expressed by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei on high inflation and urged containment of the inflation rate.

All executive branch organizations and economic institutions should manage costs and implement plans adopted to control the inflation rate, especially for the goods directly related to peoples' livelihood, Raisi stressed.
