Current int’l developments helps Iran-Central Asia trade ties to expand: Kyrgyz official

Bandar Abbas, IRNA – An advisor to Kyrgyzstan’s president said that current international developments would cause Iran-Central Asia ties to expand and Kyrgyzstan wants to be pioneer.

Tengiz Bolturuk who is heading an economic delegation to Iran said during a meeting with Hormozgan Province Governor-General Mehdi Dousti on Saturday night that current developments would most likely decrease use of Russian transportation capacity and Iran would be an alternative in this regard.

Activating the potentials of Iran’s Shahid Rajaei Port is an important political and economic project for Kyrgyzstan, the Kyrgyz official noted.

Bolturuk said that Kyrgyzstan has invested in two mining projects in Iran and is seeking to invest in Hormozgan Province after those projects are completed.

He also touched upon cultural ties between Iran and Kyrgyzstan and said that the governmental Kyrgyz company he is heading has a cultural subsidiary that attempts to study Iran-Kyrgyzstan ties through Iranian sources and give a correct narrative of Kyrgyzstan’s history to the Kyrgyz youth.

Bolturuk announced Kyrgyzstan’s readiness to provide Iran with electricity, cheap work force, meat, mineral water, and tourism facilities.
