Iran’s Consul General office in Almaty warns Iranians residing in Kazakhstan

Tehran, IRNA – The Consul General Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kazakhstan’s Almaty city in a communique asked the Iranian citizens residing in Kazakhstan to refrain from unnecessary frequenting in that country and attending the gathering centers in the cities where they reside, until settlement of affairs in the country.

In the Iranian Consul General Office communique which appears in its Twitter account it is said that Keeping in mind the recent developments in Kazakhstan, and particularly in Almaty, the dear Iranian citizens in Kazakhstan are requested to keep calm and at ease, and to refrain from frequenting in the cities where they reside, and particularly in their gathering centers as far as possible, until the settling down of the conditions.

The consular communique is issued under such conditions that the protest demonstrations that started on January 2 and gradually turned into public unrest expanded to the government offices in many cities and lootings in some cases.

The clashes between the protesters and the security forces has led to getting killed and wounded of many people.

The president of Kazakhstan has requested assistance of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), led by Russia and as a result the CIS peace-keeping forces were forwarded to Kazakhstan.
