Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi who was speaking for a group of university students on the occasion of 2nd anniversary of Martyr Qasem Soleimani said that as the Supreme Leader has always stressed the Navy is a strategic force.
“America and the global oppression’s arms threatened a lot and tried not to permit the 75th IRI Navy Fleet achieve its objectives, but that fleet regardless of the entire threats accomplished their mission within 150 days and night without taking sides along the shores of any other country and were warmly received by the Russians,” he said.
Major General Rahim Safavi added that the 75th IRI Navy Fleet’s passage through the Atlantic Ocean and the English Channel was the best proof for turning Iran into a major regional power with a strategic rope for its naval forces.
He, meanwhile, referred to the Navy warships’ escorting of the commercial ships and oil tankers, adding that the IRI Navy performs its escorting missions of the commercial ships and oil tankers in international waters, and particularly in the Red Sea, perfectly well.
