Iran, Sweden discuss Yemeni crisis

Tehran, IRNA – Ali-Asghar Khaji, a senior advisor to Iranian foreign minister, and Sweden's Special Envoy for Yemen Peter Semneby, in a meeting in Tehran on Saturday, reviewed the latest ongoing developments in Yemen.

The two diplomats explored ways for further cooperation between Iran and Sweden on the crisis in the tiny Arab country.

Khaji underlined the need for finding a political solution to the Yemeni crisis while stressing the need for intra-Yemeni talks and the formation of an all-inclusive government in the country.

The Swedish envoy, for his part, reiterated Iran's role in restoring peace to Yemen and the entire region.

He also elaborated on the efforts made by the United Nations to establish a ceasefire in the country, and lift the economic siege on the Yemeni people and restoration of political dialogue.
