Zakani's letter was delivered to the office of UNWTO Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili by the tourism deputy of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, Iranian Ambassador to Spain Hassan Qashqavi, and the Tehran Municipality representatives for international affairs in Madrid on Tuesday.
The former Tehran City Council members had on December 12, 2020, commissioned the former Tehran mayor to forward such a request to the UNWTO secretary general.
