Pakistani Advisor leaves for Iran for important trade talks

Islamabad, IRNA -- Advisor to Prime Minister of Pakistan for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood left for Tehran on Friday to attend 9th meeting of the Joint Trade Committee.

He is accompanied by senior officials of the Ministry of Commerce who will attend the Pak-Iran Joint Trade Committee meeting in Tehran.

During his stay in Tehran, the Pakistani Advisor will meet with Iranian Minister of Industry and Trade Raza Fatemi Amin.

Yesterday, Dawood met with Prime Minister Imran Khan and apprised him about his visit to Iran and its role in improving prospects of regional connectivity and bilateral trade between the two countries.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Pak-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Iranian parliament in a meeting with Dawood in Islamabad had said that the Iranian government was looking forward to the next meeting of the Joint Trade Committee.

He called for the establishment of a joint barter chamber between Iran and Pakistan, which would help boost bilateral trade.

The eighth meeting of the Pak-Iran Joint Trade Committee was held in 2019 in Islamabad.
