Iranian play ‘I bewitched you’ gains Serbian Festival’s grand prix

Belgrade, IRNA – The grand prix of the Bitef Internaitonal Theatre Festival of Serbia was jointly granted to the Iranian film ‘I bewitched you’, directed by Ehsan Hemmat, and ‘Belgrade cement’ directed by Slovenian director Sebastian Khorovats.

The organizers of this year’s festival announced that the jurors decided to allocate two prizes in each section due to the simultaneous holding of the 54th and 55th Bitef International Theater Festival.

The week-long 54th and 55th Bitef International Theater Festival which were held simultaneously this year with the slogan ‘At the threshold of tomorrow’ ended today (on Sunday) by awarding its prizes.

In the main section of the festival 12 plays from nine countries competed and the enthusiasts of those plays from France, Belgium, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Iran, Mexico, Austria, and Chile watched them.

‘I bewitch you’ by the Iranian director Ehsan Hemmat, in which three artists from Iran, Belgium and Japan play roles was highly applauded by those who watched it.

In this theatrical work the Iranian, Belgian and Japanese artists put on display some robotic and inharmonious moves simultaneously. The play highlights the main difficulties of the modern world, which increasingly distance the human beings from their humane objectives and makes the power loving, and in a way the slaves of media hegemony.
