Children, young adults’ vaccination in Iran to start in a fortnight

Zanjan, IRNA – Deputy Health Minister and head of Health Ministry’s Management Center Dr. Jaafar Sadeq Tabrizi that the vaccination of children and young adults aged six to 18 will start as of two weeks from now, and will be pursued seriously.

“Iran is in last phases of importing special vaccines for children, and that important step will soon be taken in our country,” he said, speaking with the press representatives in Zanjan.

He said that the schools and high schools, too, will therefore be reopened with a month’s delay. 

Dr. Sadeq Tabrizi said that the Health Ministry and the Education Ministry have jointly come up with the decision that the schools need to be reopened and the students must be benefitted from the presence of the teachers at the classes.

He said that currently 1.2 million doses of various types of coronavirus vaccines are injected in Iran each day and this provides a very bright perspective.
