Pakistani Professor urges Tehran, Islamabad to remain vigilant against enemies’ fake propaganda

Islamabad, IRNA -- A professor of international relations and political science at Pakistan University has warned of false propaganda by peace activists in Afghanistan, stressing the need for the governments of Iran and Pakistan to be vigilant against joint enemies trying to create misunderstandings between the two neighbors.

Dr. Farooq Hasnat, a well-known professor of international relations and political science at Pakistani universities currently based in Colombia, US, in a tweet said ‘lot of misinformation going around.’

He said, "It becomes an urgent duty of both Pakistan and Iran to counter and not let our common enemies prevail. We have been working very hard for the close ties between two brotherly nations. It should not go waste."

He added that Pakistan and Iran must cooperate and coordinate their policies on Afghanistan and lookout for fake propaganda manufactured by anti-Muslim forces.

The Pakistani government, in its latest stance against allegations of its involvement in the Panjshir conflict between the Taliban and the Afghan National Resistance Front, called it a propaganda campaign aimed at misleading the international community.

Pakistan's foreign ministry in a statement reiterated Pakistan’s abiding commitment to a peaceful, stable, sovereign, and prosperous Afghanistan.
