Russian Sci-Tech hub voices readiness to broaden cooperation with Iran

Moscow, IRNA – Governor Andrey Travnikov and other officials, as well as private sector executives in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali in Novosibirsk Oblast which is known as Russia's science and technology hub called for the expansion of relations with Iran.

Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali took a 3-day trip to Novosibirsk Oblast, the transit hub of Siberia, to attend the International Forum of Technological Development – TECHNOPROM, and meet state officials and private sector executives to negotiate on cooperation on scientific, cultural, economic and technological issues.

Jalali and Travnikov launched a joint working group on cooperation between Iran and Novosibirsk Oblast tasked with preparing cooperation plans on scientific, technological, cultural, economic and trading areas.

He also had a meeting with private sector executives where he promised to prepare the ground for manufacturers and businesspeople from Iran and Novosibirsk to get familiar and for a delegation from the Oblast to visit Iran.

Jalali visited the TECHNOPROM exhibition which is one of the greatest industrial events in the world. He met executives from many technology giants, getting familiar with their area of works and making agreements with some companies to expand ties with Iranian manufacturers.

The ambassador visited Novosibirsk State University where 140 Iranian students study in medical science. He had a meeting with some Iranian students.

He also met Novosibirsk Chief Mufti Salim Shakirziyanov in the Great Mosque of Novosibirsk, discussing the situation of Muslims in the Oblast.
