9th intl' conference on Iranian studies in Tbilisi

Baku, June 15, IRNA - Ninth international scientific conference on Iranian studies was held online at Tbilisi with the aim of strengthening cultural and historical ties between Iran Georgia and promoting bilateral relations with the participation of the university and cultural consultation of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to Iran's cultural attache in Georgia, in this conference 24 articles were presented by students of the universities of Georgia, Iran, Russia and Bangladesh.

In the opening ceremony of this conference,  Kakhaber Kordzaia, the rector of the International University of Caucasus, said that the presentations in international conferences would enhance interaction and relations with pundits and intellectuals active in different scientific fields and students.

He hailed the continuous cooperation of Iranian cultural consultations.

Iran's ambassador to the Caucasus Akbar Qasemi said in the conference that the geopolitical position of Iran and Georgia and a long history of political-cultural relations is so important, emphasizing the necessity of using the elites, students, and university teachers in the region of bilateral and regional relations.

The current level of relations between Iran and Georgia is not satisfactory and should be upgraded to both countries' scientific and research centers, Iran's Ambassador added.

Activation of transportation is one of the main foundations for developing countries' economies, he said.
