The short film ‘Umbra’ which is directed by Iranian filmmaker Saeed Jafarian will vie in American Film Institute Film Festival in competition category (AFI Fest).
AFI Fest is a reputed international film festival, the winner of which will make its way to Academy Awards.
Another Iranian short film ‘Gaze’, Directed by Farnoosh Samadi, won the AFI Fest award last year.
AFI Fest will be held in Los Angeles, US, on November 8-15.
Produced by The Artistic Center of Tehran, ‘When Pomegranate Smiles’ will compete in the Alter-Native International Short Film Festival.
The festival will be held on November 7-11 in Târgu Mureș, Romania.
In another cinema event, the International Izmir Short Film Festival invited the Iranian filmmaker Saeed Nejati to judge in the Turkey-based festival’s jury panel.
The 19th edition of event, which is also known as Izmir Kisa, is planned to be held from October 30 to November 4.
Another Iranian movie ‘Things We Do Not Say’ will participate in one of the renowned European film events 22nd Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival.
The joint production of Iran and France has been selected among 3,700 competitors for the main category of the festival.
The film is about a theatre group, who decides to resume an unfinished project.
The current edition of the event is underway October 25-30.
