Foreign passengers can receive and renew their visas in 20 minutes just by referring to the e-visa offices at 10 Iranian airports, including the newly opened one at Qeshm airport, without having to go to the country's embassies or consulates, Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Expatriates Affairs, Hassan Qashqavi said on Wednesday evening upon the inauguration of the e-visa facility at the International Airport of Qeshm Island.
'They can also submit their visa requests via the internet… , and receive their visas upon arriving at Qeshm Island airport within 20 minutes,' Qashqavi said.
'Given that medical tourism, wellness tourism, echo tourism and the likes fall in the same category, and the costs are half the other kinds of visas, the officials of Qeshm Free Zone Organization can take measures to promote the medical tourism, Qashqavi added.
Qeshm Geopark, Hara forest, and the Salt Cave are among the unique attractions of the island, that have remained unknown even for the Iranians, the deputy minister said.
Locating in the Persian Gulf, the Qeshm region comprises of three islands of Qeshm, Hormuz and Lark and is home to 150,000 people.

Tehran, Jan 11, IRNA – With an e-visa facility in place at Iran's Qeshm Island airport, citizens from 180 countries can obtain their visas upon arrival at the Persian Gulf's island airport, a senior official said.
